I’m sure you’ve heard the wonderful news that the Foundation has received a $10 million donation from our dear friend and supporter, Christine E. Lynn, which will name the Christine E. Lynn Women’s Health & Wellness Institute at Boca Raton Regional Hospital.

Christine made the announcement at Gloria Drummond’s 80th Birthday celebration last month, which was hosted by the Debbie-Rand Memorial Service League and held in the Harvey & Phyllis Sandler Pavilion -- a magnificent setting for the hundreds of people that turned out to pay tribute to Gloria! (Please see article below.) During an emotional and heartfelt moment, Christine told Gloria that she is a very special person who has done so much for so many, and that she was giving the gift in Gloria’s honor so that women throughout our community would have access to the finest specialized medical care.

The gift is an important step in the creation of a regional destination for women’s health services at your Hospital. It will be utilized to construct a state-of-the-art facility which will serve as a “centralized address” for women’s health, providing services specifically designed for women along with coordinated access to the broad spectrum of services at Boca Raton Regional Hospital.

As you know, HealthGrades® has ranked our women’s services in the top 5% nationwide for 2010, and the Institute’s Center for Breast Care performs more than 90,000 procedures each year. Christine’s gift will now allow us to build a facility that creates an appropriate setting for the high level of clinical excellence that we provide.

This lead gift for the Lynn Women’s Health & Wellness Institute launches a Foundation campaign to raise additional funds to support the Institute’s services and technology. You will hear more about the campaign as the strategic plan for the Lynn Women’s Institute is developed. It is only through the ongoing commitment of our donors like Christine and so many others that we are able to provide the finest in healthcare for our loved ones.
