System Analyst- Human Resources

Position Summary:

Responsible for the functional analysis, design, implementation, and maintenance of Human Resources/Benefit Administration and Payroll software applications in a healthcare environment.    Performing operational support of data anayltics, data mining, report-writing, EMR support, and trending.  Acts as the liaison to Human Resources regarding IS issues and vendors. 

 Position Expectations and Responsibilities

  • Expected to have experience working with ADP or PeopleSoft or equivalent HR software
  • Expected to have experience writing SQR’s or equivalent report writers
  • Expected to have strong organizational skills / communication skills
  • Expected to have experience with Kronos time clocks and attendance tracking 
  • Expected to have knowledge in program management, healthcare delivery, and change management.
  • Expected to have the ability to learn and adapt to new software applications as they are introduced to the department.
  • Expected to have project management skills.
  • Expected to have proven success in the analytical support of healthcare software.
  • Expected to have report writing skills utilizing one of the following: SQL, Crystal, or Reportsmith.
  • Expected to be proficient with Microsoft Office and html or related applications.
  • Expected to maintain a working knowledge of the configuration for the entire BRCH network.
  • Expected to understand one or more of the following operating systems: SQL, Oracle, Unix, or AIX.
  • Expected to have basic mathematical skills.
  • Expected to have the ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
  • Expected to be responsible for the management of hospital-wide information systems.
  • Expected to perform system analysis review and evaluation, and provide management with timely analysis and feasibility studies.
  • Expected to review and/or define system testing procedures.
  • Expected to provide consulting and troubleshooting services to all customers.
  • Expected to perform information systems change management.
  • Expected to participate in IS projects by providing changes or enhancements to the systems as needed, and act as a lead for primary applications.
  • Expected to assume the role of project manager for assignments within the realm of their primary application responsibility by coordinating all facets of the project.
  • Expected to assist with training and documentation for information systems as needed.
  • Expected to share information regarding solutions to problems with colleagues, and other staff members as appropriate.
  • Expected to coordinate system changes with other sections of the department.
  • Expected to ensure there is good communication between IS and user groups.
  • Expected to participate in departmental committees to set standards, select software, and determine processes.
  • Expected to train new staff as designated by manager.
  • Expected to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. 
  • Expected to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of mangers, clients, customers and the general public.

 Minimum Education and/or Experience Required: 

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university OR Three to four years related experience
  • Experience in a Healthcare setting preferred
  • Licensure/Regulation/Certification:   N/A

*Incumbent may be required to perform emergency duty before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency, crisis situation or disaster (man-made or natural) including evacuation sites.

*The person in this position will work in a smoke-free location, and is expected to adhere to all smoking restrictions.
