To Our Patients,
On behalf of the staff of the Eugene M. and Christine E. Lynn Cancer Institute, I would like to be the first to welcome you to our program. We know that this is a challenging time for you and your loved ones and I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for allowing us to be a partner in your care. The information in this website is designed as a guide to help you to navigate through the complicated world of cancer care. It is our goal to help you through all aspects of your treatment with as much ease and comfort as possible. This website will help answer many of your questions and help to guide you when discussing your treatment with members of your care team.
Many of our team members have been with our program for years; some for their entire careers. We pledge that we will treat you as if you were one of our own family members. And treating family members takes special amounts of care, comfort and support. To make that possible, we have brought together a multidisciplinary care team of highly trained professionals. Your nurse, technologists, dosimetrists, physicists, physicians and psychosocial staff are all certified and highly regarded in their respective fields.
Our five physicians have more than 80 years of combined experience treating cancer patients and we are all board certified. The physicists who work behind the scenes are recognized experts in quality control, patient safety and treatment validation. Our dosimetrists have a combined total of more than 50 years of clinical experience, and our nurses more than 60 years. The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certifies all of our therapists and our full-service psychosocial program offers complimentary individual, family and group counseling. Working side-by-side with the administrative staff, research team and data center, your care team’s number one priority is improving your sense of well-being. Most importantly, our commitment is to treat all of our patients with dignity and respect.
All of our experience, the breadth and depth of our programs, the advanced technology we employ on your behalf; all of this is second to the sincere compassion and humanity that we as a team, offer you and your family at this most difficult time. Many of us have also had family members challenged by cancer; some of us are cancer survivors ourselves. We are here to help. When your treatments are complete, and you reflect back on your experience at the Lynn Cancer Institute, our greatest hope is that you will remember us as compassionate professionals dedicated to your health and well-being.
