BocaCare’s Specialty Network includes Stephen Steinberg, MD, Gastroenterology. Dr. Steinberg received his undergraduate degree from Cornell University, Magna Cum Laude in Physics and Phi Beta Kappa; and his MD from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine with honors (Alpha Omega Alpha). He completed residency at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and trained in Hematology and Oncology at the University of Washington. His Gastroenterology education occurred at the University of Minnesota where he trained with the pioneers of therapeutic endoscopy. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, Hematology, and Oncology.
His academic appointments have included: Assistant Professor of Medicine, University of Minnesota; Associate Professor of Medicine and Surgery, SUNY Stony Brook; Professor of Medicine and Surgery, University of Colorado and Voluntary Professor of Medicine, University of Miami. He was Chief of Clinical Gastroenterology and Therapeutic Endoscopy at the University of Colorado, and at SUNY Stony Brook. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and a Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology. He has taught therapeutic endoscopy to Gastroenterology trainees for more than 20 years and has been an innovator in the area.
