Physician Bio
Liana Barkan, M.D., is an internal medicine physician at Baptist Health
Primary Care. Dr. Barkan specializes in preventive care, health care maintenance,
chronic disease management, women’s health, weight management, hypertension,
hyperlipidemia, diabetes, travel medicine, substance abuse and eating
disorders. She is fluent in English and Spanish.
Prior to joining Baptist Health Primary Care in 2021, Dr. Barkan was on
staff at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, where she worked as a primary
care provider. Prior to her time at Mount Sinai Hospital, she worked as
an attending and clinical professor at NYU Langone Health in Manhattan
for nine years.
Dr. Barkan provides comprehensive, personalized care and is passionate
about helping her patients live healthier lifestyles. She takes a holistic
approach to care and considers the different aspects of life that contribute
to physical and mental well-being.
When she is not treating patients, Dr. Barkan enjoys exercising, reading
and playing with her children.
