The Christine E. Lynn Women’s Health & Wellness Institute’s
Phyllis Sandler Center for Living Well is pleased to introduce community
acupuncture to its growing list of services.
Acupuncture is used to balance and harmonize the mind and body. It is often
used for the treatment of pain issues, emotional balancing, treating internal
ailments and even boosting the immune system. Acupuncture is a safe and
effective way to naturally treat many health concerns for people at any age.
Community acupuncture, also known as group acupuncture, is often used as
a way to introduce new patients to acupuncture or as a more affordable
treatment option for patients unable to afford private sessions. Many
of those who practice and participate feel strongly that an additional
benefit of community/group acupuncture is the healing energy generated
in the room during a group session.
At the Women’s Institute, we prefer that you schedule your appointment
but walk-ins are welcome during our scheduled sessions. When you arrive,
you will be greeted by a member of our team, provided with forms to complete,
including the consent for treatment, and then invite you to come into
a comfortable room in our Phyllis Sandler Center for Living Well. Your
acupuncturist will ask you to share your concerns as to what you’re
trying to achieve and then he/she will place the needles as you close
your eyes and relax for about 20 minutes in a room with soothing music,
dimmed lights and others who are there for similar treatments.
