Moving Forward After Breast Cancer
Moving Forward is a program designed for women with a history of breast
cancer who are seeking ongoing wellness and health education, resources and
support. The program offers patients a level of security and peace of
mind to relieve anxiety, knowing they will be followed in a dedicated
program. Typically, women who sign up have completed their breast cancer
treatments and are not currently under the care of a local oncologist
or breast surgeon.
Moving Forward patients start with a visit* with our Director of Clinical
Breast Services, Cheryl Moss- Mellman, MD. Board-certified in Internal
Medicine, her practice is dedicated to breast health and the care of women
at high risk of developing breast cancer. Dr. Moss-Mellman will perform
a thorough evaluation including an in-depth review of the patient’s
history. She will recommend a personalized breast health surveillance
plan that may include breast MRI, contrast enhanced spectral mammography
or breast ultrasound. She may also suggest additional tests based on medical
history and future health risks for women who have already received breast
cancer treatment.
*Dr. Moss-Mellman will share your assessment and imaging plan with your
primary care physician. Medicare and most commercial health insurance
plans are accepted.
